Ever since I was a young girl, three has always been my favorite number.  Its symbolism appears quite frequently in religion, fairy tales, mythology, and literature.  Even yoga contains the trinity of mind, body, and spirit. Trikonasana is one of the fundamental poses in yoga, and it is meant to bring the mind, body, and spirit into balance and alignment, by grounding through the legs while simultaneously stretching towards the sky.  When practicing triangle pose, we are literally forming two triangles with our body. • Extend your arms, exhale, and bend sideways from the right hip, until your right hand makes contact with your right leg or toe.

  • Reach toward the ceiling with your left arm, and gaze upward, breathing slowly and deeply.
